What Medicall is
Medicall — the Hospital Needs Expo — is one of Asia's largest medical equipment exhibitions, and runs multiple editions across Indian cities each year. The floor is dominated by equipment manufacturers, distributors and hospital supply companies, with hospital owners, procurement heads and clinicians coming through as buyers.
The Healthcare Innovation Awards run alongside the expo and are aimed at a different set of participants: companies building something new rather than selling established product lines.

How the Innovation Awards process worked in 2026
Applications opened ahead of the Chennai edition and drew 162 entries across healthcare categories. Entries were screened down to a shortlist of 9 finalists, who then presented live to an independent jury drawn from academic, clinical and industry backgrounds. Presenting in person, to clinicians who ask real questions, is a meaningfully different bar from submitting a deck.
Fertiva Pro presented on 25 July 2026 in the category Innovations in MedTech Services & Procedures Predominantly Enabled by AI, and was the only finalist working in the fertility domain.
Why the fertility angle stood out. Most healthcare software entering Indian awards is horizontal — hospital information systems, teleconsultation, diagnostics. Fertility care has its own workflow, its own regulation under the ART Act, and its own documentation burden, and almost nobody builds for it specifically. That was the case Fertiva Pro made to the jury.
What Fertiva Pro presented
Fertiva Pro is an AI clinical platform built for Indian fertility clinics, from the first line of code rather than adapted from a general hospital system. The core of the pitch:
- Regulation-native design. The ART (Regulation) Act 2021 and the DPDP Act 2023 shape the data model and consent flows rather than sitting on top as paperwork.
- AI voice transcription across 22 Indian languages. A consultation spoken in Tamil, Hindi or Telugu becomes a structured clinical note, which is where most of a consultant's admin time disappears.
- One system instead of four. Clinical records, patient communication, HR and accounts unified, aimed at the single-consultant and small-group clinics that make up most of India's ART registry.
- Clinic-controlled data. The clinic is the data fiduciary; the platform is the processor, set out in writing.
